Pupil Premium

The Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and close the gap between them and their peers. It is allocated to students from low-income families who are currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM), Looked after Children, children adopted from care and Service Forces children. It also includes pupils who have been eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years (known as the Ever 6 FSM measure).

Target

To continue to narrow the disadvantage gap by addressing inequalities and raise attainment in Literacy and Numeracy of those pupils with complex and additional needs in low income families.

Formal Curriculum

Data shows that PP pupils make good or better progress across all subjects covering English, Maths, PSHE, preparation for adult life, accreditation. 91% made good or better progress in reading, 86% made good or better progress in in writing, 85% made good or better progress in speaking, listening and communication and 85% made good or better progress in maths. There were no detrimental gaps between PP and non PP.

Semi-Formal Curriculum

This is assessed using MAPPS which does not produce ‘hard data’ We measure progress against pupils individual outcomes and targets and this is triangulated through details observations, teaching observations, learning walks, work scrutiny and golden thread folders. All pupils in receipt of PP made expected or better progress on this pathway.
