Award Scheme
Standards are important to all the pupils’ activities in school and
there are four particular expectations.

Hard Work.

Good manners and
courtesy.
3
A high standard of
discipline - Self-discipline is the ideal.

A good attendance
record.
In order to ensure that good work, effort and behaviour are rewarded,
there is a Merit Award Scheme. Individual ‘Star of the Week’ awards are
made for every class.
These ‘special mentions’ gain individual rewards for the pupils. We
also have a system where the children can gain Merit Tokens in return
for meeting individually negotiated weekly targets.
These could relate to behaviour or personal and social
development.
Tokens can be
redeemed for gifts from the Merit Token Shop.
Students can also earn nominations within the SEAL
(Social and Emotional Aspects of Learning) Programme which can also earn
merits and prizes.
